Old school again

Hey all:

Just when I thought I had "olscool" all done, I saw this mod on one of the boards and it completed the picture.

Check out the tires...

What do you think?

I miss the days of 'raised white letters, that'll cost you extra' when it was the same tire Now if those tires said Firestone Wide oval that would be old school:hihi:

Looks good. Did you buy the tires like that, or is it doen with a tire marker?

Also with your pie adapter. Did you wire to a constant source? I am having trouble with the shaker not recognizing it after a couple days, and having to disconnect the battery to reset it. Sorry to hijack your thread.

Ordered 4/26/05. Picked up June 11, 2005. 05 Mustang GT Premium Coupe, 5spd, Performance White, with red accent leather (ICAP), Shaker 500, IUP, active alarm, side airbag, spoiler delete. Thanks,

Wired to a constant source for 4 months. No problem ever.

Good Luck.

I have been thinking of adding white letter tires ever since I got my white pony. Gonna wait until I need tires first, though. Then, I'll decide what to do. I may upgrade the wheels at that point too.

Starman, I think they look great! I posted a thread a year ago trying to find some RWL tires but after all the discussions from everyone on the Forum it was determined that the only ones available in 17" or bigger were SUV tires. I can't read the writing on them. Who makes them?

I got the idea from another member on another forum.

Hot Tire, tire paint... A few hours and you have the look.

Available at Auto Zone.

I normally love the look of raised white letter tires, but with the lower profile tires that are popular these days, I kind of lean toward preferring the black sidewall look.

Now if you went true old school and got tires with a little more sidewall height, than I'd be all over it for sure!

Still looks pretty good though -- you might have me convinced after I look at it a little more!

Totally agree...give me fatties or give me death. Those Kate Moss tires are anti-old school...

The 17's that come on the car aren't THAT big. I rather like the white lettering. I don't think it looks out of place on the car. Now, if you went with 20's, I agree wit ddellwo, that might look out of place. I think it would also look out of place if you tried to get the raised white lettering AND a white-wall band, but I think this looks good. I won't be changing my tires out any time soon...but looks good.

OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.

Leaves me wondering how it would look on the stock 16's. I might get a stick of chalk and see if that's works as an experiment. Then I can rinse it off when I'm done.
