Smile I wondered where Ford got the idea for the 18" "fanblade" wheels.....

I thought it might be from the older Hot Wheels cars , but then I found several pics of early Shelby GT's with the wheels pictured on this GT 350H.

I see the fanblades on a lot of cars, not just Fords.
Good question, who came up with the original idea.
You might have something there because the fanblades on the Mustangs now are grey in the center of the fans just like in the pic.

I love all the new Stang rims but I love my blades! I wanted them the first time I laid eyes on them. Are they just not that popular? Strangely in my area I have never seen anyone else with them. I think the Matrix has similar rims and I've seen a few other models with some that are close.

It was also a wheel cover style for the 67 Shelby's. ie; hubcap.
