K&N Aircharger on 06

I know that this topic has been well covered in past threads and I have been reading a lot of them. I think I would like to go with the K&N Aircharger because of price and no retune. Knowing that it is very possible that Ford made minor changes from 05 to 06, I would like to hear from anyone that has installed a K&N Aircharger intake on their 06 GT. Specifically I would like to know if they had to reflash or retune, if the check engine light became a problem and their rating of the product.

Thank You Very Much.

i have run 10,000 miles with the aircharger on my 06 and no probs, like you i did not want to reflash, it definately made a difference although i have no proof.
I have recently reflashed after finally deciding i wanted more power but it wasn't a neccesity to, i just lusted for even more power!
Do what you want to not what others want you too! its your car!

Thanks ratsster. I had pretty much concluded that the K&N would not require reflashing or cause problems. Your response helps put my mind at ease. I just want something that looks better than the factory air box, maybe add a little sound and perhaps a tiny gain in performance. Sometimes I think you can read too much and just need a nice simple answer.

Hopefully I will be able to order it next week. I found a place selling them for $234 with free shipping.

yes try EBAY, you can find one for 225 which includes shipping. $10 is 10 bucks, buys a half tank of gas. You will need it. With the aircahrger, I noticed a difference and had my foot on thegas for awhile with a smile on my face.

Ordered 4/26/05. Picked up June 11, 2005. 05 Mustang GT Premium Coupe, 5spd, Performance White, with red accent leather (ICAP), Shaker 500, IUP, active alarm, side airbag, spoiler delete. MODS: Baltimore Street Mods 10' red stripes and red rocker stripe. window tint. K & N aircharger. Pony Package fender emblems. Added 18" Polished Alum. Bullitts Hurst comp shifter

keep in mind they used to advertise 9hp with just their air filter, so that 15 number is a lil dubious...i only use them for my oil filter now.

Agree... 15 is probably a stretch.

With my aircharger, they sent paperwork in which their test vehicle showed a 15.26hp difference at the rear wheels @ 6000 rpm, in 3rd gear.

Stock was 263.45 and was 278.71 after the intake kit installed.

Ordered 4/26/05. Picked up June 11, 2005. 05 Mustang GT Premium Coupe, 5spd, Performance White, with red accent leather (ICAP), Shaker 500, IUP, active alarm, side airbag, spoiler delete. 5.0 mustang mag had the K&N air filter as a 2hp increase and 8 HP increase for the CAI on their dyno testing of 10 different CAIs.
