better acceleration mods?

hi, I have a borla catback and a k&n aircharger but the car is not tuned yet. I've got some cash right now and I want to get some new performance mods; plus i want to feel quicker acceleration when i press on the pedal, so I was thinking underdrive pullies? should i tune first or get new mods then tune??

thanks

IMHO, a tuner, then Steeda UDPs. If you have an auto trans, a tuner is going to be the thing that really transforms your car.

Dude...get an SCT tuner and tunes from BamaChips. I can't imagine anything short of a turbo or S/C doing more for your car. I got mine yesterday and it is AWESOME!!!

Get your Tune and then GEARS. No matter what tranny you have, the gear multiplys the Torque your car makes and sends it to the ground.

I am having a 4.10 installed in mine next month.

so how much hp/tq am i looking at with the 4.10s and UDP, what brand produces those 4.10s, does it make the automatics feel more agressive in shifting. appreciating ur fast responses. 'thumbs up'

I think you are being had. 4.10 gears in an auto might be nice around town, but not good for the highway. If you do decide to go with gears, only buy Ford Racing gear sets and have them installed at the dealer so you can bust them when it falls apart later.

Ask an auto trans guy who has a tuner AND gears, if he had to choose, which would he rather have, and you will get tuner, hands down.

If you want noticeable acceleration improvement that won't cost you more in fuel go with a lightweight driveshaft.

I have heard from everyone that has ever had one that it's a noticeable improvment in performance: kinda helps the car rev faster; less rotational mass thus allowing more hp/tq to the rear wheels.

Also, get a new intake when you get the tuner. There are many intakes that outperform the K&N which of course require a tune.

... my 2 more cents!

it's a little hard to replace my k&n. I'm not one of those guys who want to exhaust their engines, i just want to feel that the acceleration is improved, i race occasionally and when i do I don't think the launch is quick enough. I just need something that makes the engine response much better, so what's the deal with the lightweight driveshaft? and why would the 4.10s come apart?
