How to store Mustang for the Winter?

Hey guys,

I'm just about to order a new 2007 Mustang. I would have today, but the freaking blizzard that rolled through destroyed those hopes. Anyways, by the time I get it will be better out hopefully, but I had a question about winter storage. If I choose to store it for the winter, I don't know where I'm going to put it. we have a small parking area but no garage. I really don't want to leave it outside with just a car cover on it. Is there anywhere I can rent to store it for a few months? Anytime out of the freezing cold and precipitation is better than not. Most storage places have rodent problems and I don't want my car become a nesting place for mice or something. Any suggestions?

PS: I think I'm going black on black with Pearl Gold stripe (pony package v6).

Stock as can be, just trying to reverse the damage the previous owner caused.

In the area I live, there are a few places you can rent storage space for a car. One is the building I have my business in and it is a great place, no rodents, heat at night in the winter, 24 hour security, fire sprinklers.

I guess you just have to inquire where you live and find a suitable place. I am sure if you look, you will find a place.

Or you could spend $12K and get an Amish built prefab garage.

Haha! Have $12k you could loan me? I promise I'd pay it back. How much is everyone else paying to rent?

Contact a local Moving and storage company - in person. A phone call will not let you project you are a nice guy and you need them to help you. Other than that - contact someone a local Antique or Classic car club or member and ask where they store their cars.

Hold on, I think I have it lying around somewhere...

Seriously though, if you have the means it's well worth the investment. The garage itself is about $7K, and it's around $5K for the slab.

Just got mine delivered last month.

That's a nice little garage you've got there. Well done.

How big is your living room?

Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms should be a convenience store, not a government agency.

Haha, the good ideas just keep flowing... I live out in the boonies by a lake with no room for a garage, so I may be forced to use a storage place.

While we were building our new home I rented three mini storage units that I had my cars in to keep them out of the weather.

Were they car specific storage units or somewhere where you'd store just normal belongings?

They were just regular storage units that people fill with household goods. The cars were stored in them for six months, I checked them regulary and never seen any signs of mice running around.
