Hey everybody,
ppl likes to talk about the changes they've made to their ride...thought i'd ask around.
So far this year I have installed:
-Koni SRT. T Front Struts and Rear Shocks
-J&M's Steel Adjust PHB
-SR Performance 1.5" Lowering Springs
-SR Rear LCAs
-Replaced my factory mirrors w/ 2013 mirrors
-Swapping my torn-up factory shifter w/ factory replacement
-FINALY replacing my stock 17s w/ AM's 2010 style GT500 rims 18x9s all around.
-Also planning on replacing/upgrading my brakes in the next month or so...
For me:
1. American Muscle hood struts
2. MGW shifter
3. Window tint
4. Borla Touring Axle back
5. Shelby-Kicker speaker upgrade (all around)
6. Shelby-Kicker amp & subwoofer (installation this weekend - Done!)
7. Blowfish shift bracket (on order)
8. Carbon fiber vinyl wrap on center console, center stack dash, door handle and door lock surrounds, headlight switch panel and window switch panels.
Planned:
9. Boss 302 oil to water cooler
Thinking about:
10. Ford fog lights in the lower valence (will keep the ones in the grill)
My main goal for this year is to survive a road course, or better yet handle well enough to keep up with the other "novices." And still be a good daily driver. So I've been doing suspension and braking oriented stuff --
- 19" SVT forged 2010 GT500 take-off wheels (very nice wheels, and got a great deal with tires and TPMS sensors; needed to clear Brembo brakes)
- Brembo GT500 brakes -- 14" front rotors, 4-piston calipers, braided stainless steel lines
- Steeda Sport springs (1" drop front, 1.25" rear, a bit stiffer than stock springs but still comfortable for the street)
- Steeda HD Strut Mounts (provides some camber adjustment, but they are a bit noisier than the stock mounts)
- GT500 take-off struts and shocks (well matched to the Sport springs, and a great deal)
- GT500 take-off front and rear sway bars (car feels fairly well balanced on my first track day)
- BMR Adjustable panhard bar (needed to re-center after lowering)
Next up:
- brake cooling ducts, probably using GT-CS/Boss front lower facia
- finned differential cover and new axle vent -- had a little trouble with diff fluid expansion and leaking at the track
I've only owned my car for 10 months and the mods are in my sig.
Planning to add hood struts to get rid of that stupid prop, and add the 2010 GT front undertray/heatshield to improve aerodynamics.
Here's just my order list from American Muscle in 2014:

It includes 4 new tires, suspension parts, BOSS IM and a ton of other things.
I haven't done chit to my car this year because it feels like I've been broke the whole time
- Red LED taillights (with tint)
- Yellow fog light tint
- Magnetic decklid blackout panel
- OEM trunk net (courtesy of my wonderful wife)
- Bought some factory charge motion plates to make CMDP's, still sitting in my garage unfinished.
I hear ya on the broke part. My wife and I just had our first born son in June, so I've been trying to find as many side jobs to make a little extra dough. AM has their 2010 GT500 style rims on sale this month and I still could only buy 2 at a time lol. Just bought the other 2 this morning. And I still want to purchase some blk lugnuts and possibly a set of locking lugnuts...another $45 roughly. Haha oh man...
My car will be paid off 8 or 9 months, along with a credit card that I stupidly ran up $3000 on and have been paying off as well (which are the two biggest reasons it seems like I never have money)...after that I'm hoping a little mod money might be freed up, but I also need to buy a truck (so I can stop borrowing my FIL's old Grand Prix during the winter) and I'm unfortunately really getting the itch to buy another motorcycle, although the wife will probably stop that from happening!
In the meantime though, hell I can't even afford wheels. Had a short list of stuff I wanted and thought about saving up for cams, but doubtful that will happen this year.
So far this year:
-MMD hood vent louvers
-Shelby hoodpins
-Carbon fiber decklid
-Pypes polished shorty headers
-Pypes off road H pipe
Hopefully plan on getting some new rims before the end of the year. I'll need new tires before this winter and been thinking of going bigger on rim size.
I also picked up Roush side window louvers at the AM show. Need to get them painted...who knows when it'll get done.
Since I got my mustang earlier this year, pretty much same as my sig:
Borla ATAK Axle-backs
Steeda CAI & Bama Tuner
FRPP 4.10 Gears (waiting to install)
SR Performance Lowering Springs
J&M Adjustable Steele PHB
14" Shorty Antennae
WeatherTech Floormats
5% Tint Rear, 50% Tint Front
Michelin Pilot Super Sports
