2006 Mustang Braided Engine Hoses. Any suggestions?

Look for some opinions and suggestions. Doing some engine compartment dress-up.

Thinking about braided steel hoses. Anyone have any pics?

Check out my gallery, I have one hose done (From the radiator to the overflow tank, just to try it out). The rest are on order and should be here next week. I'm using the Pi-Thon billet compression fittings, which I'm getting through Paragon Performance http://www.paragonperformance.com/. There's a guy down there named Alex who is very friendly and helpful.

OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.

First go here, Spectre Performance and select "Plumbing" then "fuel hose". Determine all the part numbers needed and then to Autozone web site. You can probably walk into an Autozone and pick up this whole kit and the fittings will be red and blue. I only wanted blue fittings so I bought the hoses and fittings seperately.

Or you an go to each link below which are the parts I bought seperately.

5/16" line: Spectre Performance. It's 48" long and you cut it to the size you need and slip the other clamp on. Need one of these.

3/8" line: Spectre Performance. It's 72" long and you cut it to size also. Buy an extra set of clamps.

5/8" line: Spectre Performance. This one is 48" long and you cut it to size also. Need one of these as well.

The radiator overflow, passenger side PCV, fuel vaccum, and brake vaccum are 3/8", the fuel rail one is 5/16", and the big PCV on the driver's side is 5/8".

Then you can go here and pick out the part numbers of the clamps that you want if you don't pick up a kit. Spectre Performance

Hope this helps. Oh yeah, you'll neel either a hacksaw (wrap that section of hose with tape first) or a Dremel to cut through the hoses. I used a Dremel and it cut right through. Let me know if you have questions.

Autozone charges 2x as much. Get the exact same product at Summit for half the cost.

Stoenr, what air intake is that?

Good input. Problem I have with Summit is their $10 handling fee regardless of what I buy plus shipping. Autozone ships to me for free and no handling fee.

Sure but the kit at Autzone if I am not mistaken is $50. $25 at summit. I usually buy two to have one for later or areas where one kit wasn't enough.

How hard is it to install the braided hoses with the fittings? I am not a mechanic. Not sure if I need to know anything when doing this.

No skills required. Its as easy as making pop tarts. (what im eating now)
Something to cut the hose to length is needed. Like a hacksaw.

Can you give me a ballpark on how much it will cost to do all of the engine bay hoses with the fittings like you did? Not using the covers but the actual braided hoses.

Doing all the hoses with Earl's Braided Stainless Steel Hose will cost around $200. I ordered most of my Hoses and clamps from Amstreetrod.com. The ends are actually fancy hose clamps i.e. screw type hose clamps with aluminum covers that look like the real thing. Here's some of my pictures.
