Retractable Hardtop option of S197

Hey all,
I found this article and thought you might be interested. I hadn't heard about a retractable hardtop, but it would be a really nice option. Lots of other cars have them these days.

OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.

I heard about that through the survey awhile back.
I like that option! I might of considered a convertable
with a hard top!! Will be very interesting to see one and
how they work, hold up ect!! The only decision would be..
no trunk or no back seat?????

Can life get any better????

Did the new T Birds have this as an option?

07 GT. Exterior mods n/a. Engine mods, see profile.
One of the more powerful cars around.
One of the slower cars around.
Makes me feel like a kid every time.

I have the convertible and would not buy a retractable roof. There is little room in the back seat - but there is some and it does help to have stuff there instead of always in the trunk. I would not buy one.

I've been saying this from the first day I signed up on this board. Ford should have incorporated a hard top convertible (at least for the higher end GT and speciality/performance models) from day one of the S197 release if at all possible. Seems like Ford is trying to play catch up to others who have already brought their hardtop convertibles to market (but in a completely different segments).

For Play: 2011 Ford Mustang v6 Premium Coupe w/Pony Package. Stock...for now.

For Work: 2011 Hyundai Sonata SE. The fun daily driver.

It was suggested this was one of the reasons for the T-bird's failure (i.e. could not compete in its class for lack of this) - I don't know - never been a T-bird fanatic..

I think ford could have make the line of the Vert top more like the coupe, but this is option is out of place on the mustang which is not supposed to be a flashy euro-car...

Looks neat though - points for engineering...

Garage
I have heard the '09 Mustang will have a retractable hardtop.

I am working on having a removable fiberglass hardtop made for my Stang. It will follow the lines of the soft top, so it will look like a coupe and not a fastback.
