2007 Mustang GT, Thinking Of Long Tube Headers???

Question for you boys with longtubes! How many horses will I get if I had American Racing long tube headers with catted mid pipe? How does the car run with long tube headers and should i be worried about anything whatsoever??? Also will the long tubes cause drone or anything of that nature as far as noise in the cockpit? are they worth the dollar on a naturally aspirated engine. they will join forces with the steeda ultimate power pack and steeda axle back exhaust!

I think that will be a good combo. You can drive w/o a tune, but one is necessary to properly get the full effect of the tubes. I think you are looking at about ~20-23HP, but that is just a rough guess based on what you have already. I'm planning on installing a set in about a month. I'd have to imagine that the car would be a bit louder, but I can't say that it would be unbearable.

If FL has smog tests, you may run into trouble with them because you will have to move the cats. Some people may look the other way if you pass the sniffer though.

Longtubes will range from 15-25 rwhp with some possible loss of low-end torque. Long tubes will entirely change the tone of the exhaust and don't pair well with chambered mufflers (Flowmasters). But they sure look cool

With the headers, x pipe, cats, and magnaflow mufflers the car was not as loud as when I had just flowmasters on it with stock exhaust. The tone is deeper now, and it does seem like it is getting louder as time goes on, but I can not prove that.

Yes as Stl stated you get about 15-25 HP. I have the ARH long tubes
1 5/8" with catted H pipe with GTAs. They are almost as quiet as it was with only the GTAs alone but when you put your foot into it they do talk to you. I don't have any drone. My GTAs have gottened a little louder over time but sound good. The X pipe has a tinney sound to them. If you are doing a CAI then they are well worth the investment. If you are planning on a Power Adder in the future then you would want the 1 3/4 headers. You can see what I have done by my signature.

You should tune the car to get the most out of the headers and to make sure your not running lean.
