2005 Base Mustang Fuel Range Question

Hello and thank you for adding me...I am new to this.

I have a 2005 Mustang it is a Base model... nothing fancy about it...I have the 4 gauge cluster in the car. I had to replace the little motors on the back of the gauges to get them to work..all work fine except the fuel gauge..When its full it shows full...but when its shows empty I still have 1/4 of fuel left.

So I purchased a Bluetooth OBD2 reader setup on an app on my phone and it gives me a better idea of what really in my tank. In the app one of the readings is Fuel Range. I know from research that I can get fuel range on my dash if I upgrade to a 6 cluster gauge set. Those are not cheap..or I have not found an affordable set as of yet. I know that is I upgrade to the 6 cluster..I would have to have my computer reprogramed for that cluster..I have a guy that has access to all that.

The question is...If I reprogramed the computer and not had the 6 cluster..would it mess up the car? Would it be ok and give me the fuel range in the app?

Thanks in advance hope my question is not to confusing.

May not work. I have found, if the computer expects to be running some accessories they need to be there. There are others that know for sure that will probably chime in soon.
