How can you tell if you 4 cylinder or a 6 cylinder?

I have a 2006 Mustang v6 and I don't know crap about cars. This is my first Mustang, I just got it a week ago.

Welcome to the site, you will find all the information that you will ever need and more right here.

95' GT. GT40X heads. XE264HR with 1.7RR. AODE built to 98+ 4R70W specs and PI 3500 stall. 4.10 gears. Bama tune. I got the heads for free and I still have buyers remorse.

Well, if it says GT on the side, it should be a v8. Notice I say should for all the fake badge people. If it has a running pony, it should be a v6.

Also, you can tel a 4 cylinder if you hear someone gun it and it sounds like a pissed off weed eater/bumble bee.

Actually even though prius's are slow 4 cylinders and my goal in life is to NEVER get passed by one, some 4 cylinders are beastly (well inline-4's) - Dodge SRT-4

Best 0-60: 5.7 seconds with no traction from first gear.
