I've had my 4.10 for a week now and let me tell you, it is AMAZING. It was my first mod (besides my tuner) and I would not have gone with anything else as my first mod (except for a supercharger if I had the money)!

My MPG went down to like 15-16 MPG in the city but I'm 100% sure it's because of my high idle, which is like 1000 RPMs (used to get 17-18 in the city before I changed the idle). My car has the stock exhaust so I needed to find a way to make it louder.

That good ol' red (Boss 302), white (GT/CS) and blue (5.0)!

Rule of thumb has always been 4.10 in a AUTO and 3.73 in a MANUAL.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the auto and manual gear boxes have different transmission gear ratios. The autos perform well with the 4.10s, but 4.10s for manuals tend to be a little steep and your first gear is gone too quick. Not to mention the highway mpg loss. GT's make the jump to 4.10s more often I think because 3.73 isn't that noticeable of a difference from 3.55s or whatever.

Agreed. 3.73s were nothing, but being pretty similar to my old 3.55.

And the MPG loss on the highway, in my GT I get about 24 MPG average if going 70. Not bad if you ask me! Just a 1-2 MPG loss. 65 seems better though. The only thing that does bother me is that in my old gears, going 70 my digital average MPG went up faster, and usually hit about 21-22 (city/highway combined) pretty quickly. Now, it goes up very slowly, compared to before. Maybe if my 10 lb foot disorder from my 4.10s lightens up, I'll get better fuel economy again. Besides, I think 17-18 MPG (city, slight highway) is okay when getting adjusted to your new gears.

Not complaining, just letting you know that your foot will suddenly weigh more when you get the gear installed!
