check charge light coming on

Hi there , I have a 2006 mustang GT, my alternater burnt its diodes I picked up on this due to a wyning noise coming from it , I have replaced it with a new one now I have the charging light and message to check the charging system appears several seconds after starting, If i switch anything on ie,lights indicators or foot on the brake etc the light goes out for 30 or so seconds then on again.
I have tested the battery and the charging both have good readings .
Any Ideas? thanks Jeff

I have the same issue. "Check charging system" message comes on sporadically. I had the original alternator go bad about 2 years in (2006 V-6). I changed it out myself, been about 3-4 years now. I assume the alternator is going out again. I was told by a mech at the dealership if you don't use the OEM (Motorcraft I think) alternator you can experience all kinds of issues. Did you install a motorcraft alternator?

Hi sorry for the delay in getting back , this could be the case ,I replaced mine with one from an Austrailian Falcon ,for all intents and purposes was the same but maybe not so I have had one sent from the States ,Its a rebuilt Motorcraft so will see if that fixes the problem , strange thing is when the light comes on its still charging , we put a meter on it so maybe just a little something not agreeing with its computor.
Cheers Jeff
