KYB or Koni shocks and struts?

I need to replace my stock suspension. I'm looking at the Koni STR. T or KYB GR2. Which is better? I have a stock 2008 V6.

I have Koni STR struts and shocks and I love them. Nice solid ride, but not harsh. Works for me!

The Konis are nice. But don't overlook Strange 10-way shocks and struts:

I've had my Koni suspension for about 2 years now. It changed my baby into a whole new beast on the corners.

+1. Put these on my wife's 2011 convertible and the ride and handling are much improved.

I read that the top strut rubber mount/bearing is often busted up, should I just go ahead and order new ones? How often do they need replacement?

Yes. Order yourself the GT500 strut mounts. They run around 70-80 bucks online for the pair. You should always replace the strut mounts in these mustangs when replacing the struts.

Also, while you have your tires off, check the condition of the bushings on your steering outer tie rods. If they are worn, now would be a good time to replace the outer tie rods seeing how you will need to have the alignment done after the replacement of your suspension.
