Emission testing

I am looking into whether my car could pass emission testing. Does anyone have a recommendation for a scanner that will check all the tested systems for readiness? I see scanner vary in price greatly.

Thinking about moving to the St. Louis area. If my car wonít pass I would look to live in a no test county.

I have no check engine light and all sensors are installed kooks cats are present.

What scanner should I purchase - would want a suggestion for one of good quality

Most any scan tool will tell you if your status monitors are ready. Even Torque Pro on your phone with a Bluetooth OBD adapter will.

Thanks

So they all have the ability- now to figure out which one to get

And if the scan tool says everything is ready the car basically passes right?

I live in Mass and all they do is plug in and look for codes and that the status monitors are ready.

That is my understanding and why I want to complete the test myself to know my status

Required with the OBD2 test is a visual inspection as well. Now how thorough that tech is is another issue. Some techs are way picky, others not so much. Technically any modification to the intake or exhaust systems is illegal...it's a federal thing.
