SCT Tuner & 2011 5.0 Mustang

Does anyone know if an SCT SF3 tuner with tunes for the 4.6L V8 can be programmed to put custom tunes into the 2011 5.0L ECU?

The tuner would have to be unlocked, meaning the car the tunes were made for would have to be returned to it's stock tune.
Don't know though if there are any custom tunes available for the 2011's yet.

Before you plug your X3 or SF3 or any SCT device into a 2011, make sure that you get the updated firmware from SCT (when it is available). It should be available very shortly.

I just talked to a tech at SCT. and he said they are looking at 34hp extra for the manual 2011 gt's. that is amazing! 446hp! wow.

I guess we will see when it is on an actual customers car and it is dynoed.
I see a lot of trickery like only using 87 octane then running a 93 tune so they are going from 402/378 instead of 412/390. So that 34 is actually 24 if you are using 91 octane like Ford recommends. Plus the rwhp #'s are more important than the flywheel #'s.

Very true. Cant wait till someone posts their results. My guess is that Lethal Perform will be the first.

Yeah, it too hope that such dishonesty isn't used.

We all know that the stock numbers are right around 260whp for automatics, and like 367-370whp for manuals.

An intake + tune should stick you right a 400whp if SCT's claim lives up.

If Evolution performance was seeing 405whp with the addition of some exhaust work on top of a tune and a K&N drop-in, I don't see where they are off with that claim.
