Is this the ATAK design mufflers they're touting? I'm still waiting for the V6 axel-back or cat-back. Want to see how they sound. Still a little leery about getting any exhaust until some people start putting up vids on youtube or I can hear it in person. Some people complaining about loud drone noise the cabin on the Magnaflow system.

We will have all 3 of our sound options for the 5.0L released next week. "Touring", "S-Type" and the patented "ATAK". There will also be a video released next week that shows the difference between the 3 options. The 5.0L motor is completely different from the previous Mustang and is required a radically different muffler design. We went through 18 different muffler designs in order to get the right 3 sound levels. They sound great and we are really proud of what we were able to do. I can't wait for you guys to hear them. Thanks for your interest!

+1 on the Borla. Had it on my C6, only way to go.
Lets hope it not too much drone as Mustangs really get annoying on the open road.

It took us quite a while and many different muffler designs to get it right but all 3 of the new Borla systems for 2011 5.0 have completely eliminated any and all droning issues. However, these systems also incorporate the deep and throaty exhaust note expected from Borla with 3 different sound levels to choose from. You get all the sound enhancements and excitement you expect from our exhaust systems at start-up, under acceleration and at WOT with zero drone anywhere in the RPM range including cruise. These are very special products that took a lot of time and effort to design.

Since the motor is so different, these mufflers are a radical departure from what we have offered for previous Mustangs. We didn't rest on our laurels and spent the time, resources and effort to come up with the right applications for this new platform. After designing exhaust systems for over 30 years we know that nothing can be taken for granted and are always looking to improve.

Thanks again for your interest and feel free to hit me with a PM if you have any questions.

Also, look out for the video next week because it's an excellent way to get an understanding of the 3 different systems from Borla.

Cheers!

Thanks Mike, hope you guys like them. As long as you listen through a halfway decent speaker system you'll be able to get a pretty good idea from the video but you really need to hear all three of them in person. They each bring out a different side of the 5.0's personality (if that makes any sense?).

Were you able to eliminate the "popping" sound that all the other exhausts I've listened to make when letting off of the throttle?

David, Thank's for coming on and giving us an update. I have been in correspondence with your company and they told me it would probably be the middle of September before they would be available. My car will be here in about a month and I will definitely be investing in one of your exhaust systems.

Can you give us some idea of what kind of increased performance we can expect if purchasing a full exhaust system ( long tubes, catted x-pipes and cat backs ) and how much difference can we expect between the ATAK and your middle exhaust system.

Looking forward to Borla Solution

Hi David - Ponyboy's questions are right on the money. Borla is quality and quality costs. You get what you pay for... So - what are we paying for with Borla? Numbers really are what we need to know for a complete Borla set-up such as Ponyboy outlines above. Sound of course, eliminating the "farting/popping" sound -IMO- is a must - in order to have a winning muffler package.
