2013 Mustang GT with stock then GT500 Mufflers

Just had GT500 mufflers put on my car today by the local Ford dealer. First you can hear the stock 2013 Mustang GT mufflers at idle and drive-bys and then the GT500 mufflers. The GT500 mufflers here are brand new and will get louder after 500-600 miles as the packing ages. Too bad but it was windy when I shot the GT500 sounds so that diluted the sound somewhat. But you should hear that the GT500s are louder than stock but not as loud as Roush.

I have the GT500's on my 2011 GT and I have to say that this video does them no justice. The stock setup almost sounded better to me. In person, the GT500's are awesome. After a while though, the bug hits you and you want more, so I put the GT500 over the axle pipes on the car which delete the resonators. That's when these mufflers REALLY woke up. Still it didn't quite feel complete, so I ordered the Boss 302 side exhaust, and it came in today. Going to install it mid week probably. I'll post a video when I put them on.

BTW awesome '13!!!

Yes, the videos never let you hear how they really sound, just a general idea because the camcorder gets overloaded with the sound plus the wind, etc, etc. Hearing it in person is much better.

I just ordered a set for my '13. I think it's what I'm looking for. More sound than stock without being overwhelming like a lot of the aftermarket axle-backs. I had GTA's on my '08 and always loved them. Also, the 4 inch tips should fill in the cutout in the rear valence better.

No need to order the over axle pipes, just go to an exhaust shop and have them cut the resonators out and replace with straight pipe.

You can do that but I just don't like how patchwork it looks. If it doesn't bother you though, you can have a shop just cut and weld a straight pipe where the resonators were. Same effect but it doesn't look that great to me.

Music to my ears! Best sounding exhaust on this car, but I might be biased:laughlitt I think the best improvement to the GT500s would be longtubes!

Look at Latemodel Restoration. They have a kit to change the rear valence on a 2013 GT to a 2013 GT500 and it includes the twin-tip 2013 GT500 mufflers. All for about $850.

Just ordered my GT500s this morning from AM. I have been through a few ABs. I was avoiding GT500s because everyone has them, but I guess its time to see what all the fuss is about. My hushpowers did sound awesome, hope I don't regret swapping.
