Anyone have Mac Flowpath axleback?

I've run Flowpaths on my 93 Cobra and 01 Gt. I feel it had the best raw sound of all mufflers. Now, we all know that the new 5.0 sounds nothing like the old 5.0 or 4.6, but, I'm hoping that the mac axleback would have a similar sound.

I've only see one crappy video on youtube of a '11/12/13 with flowpaths. Any have them? I know they drone, but that's not really a big concern of mine. I want to know how they sound.

Thanks!

Did you see my videos?

How did they sound? Deep rumble. They also droned worse than any muffler I have ever experienced. Want deep with no drone, go JBA. My friend heard mine today and commented that they were so deep he could not hear his own exhaust at idle in his car, which is GT500s and an O/R H.

Wow. How did I not see those vids? Silly me. Sounds fantastic. Drone has never really been a problem for me. But, I've never dealt with it in this car. Did it cause excess rattling and stuff? That's my only concern with drone. The sound of it doesn't bother me. lol.

Thanks for posting!

No rattles, except my brain. Seriously, it was like scanners...I got out of the car and my eyeballs were bleeding. Never experienced drone like that, ever.

What's crazy is it was pretty mild in my car. It was definitely there though.

Np. They are on a buddy's car now. I knew with my future exhaust mods they'd get to loud. I miss them though. They have an awesome sound.

I have had Mac flowpaths on my 1989 lx and 2004 GT and they sounded awesome. They gave an awesome aggressive note with a deep howling effect. I then bought two 3' inlet/outlet Mac Flowpath mufflers and had them welded into my existing Flowmaster Cat back 3" kit minus the Flowmaster mufflers. Suprisingly they dont sound as good as the old 5.0 or 4.6L. I even deleted the cats and made no difference. I still love the deep sound of them but wished they sounded like they do with older cars.

^^ youre just not going to match that sound, different firing order on these motors, so it throws off the exhaust note we all know and love

True! I have to admit that the Flowmaster 60 series 3 chambered mufflers that came with the Amrican thunder kit did sound more like the flowpaths on older cars. I am thinking about picking up some used Roush axleback which give that aggressive tone that I am looking for.

Thanks MXM, they sound great! True not quite like they did on the older motors, but still very aggressive and mean sounding.

Your looking at Roush huh? I do like how they sound lower rpm, but when you get on it they get an odd screeching sound that kinda bugs me. High pitched.
