Another tune thread

I did my research and have read through a lot of opinions and findings here on the forum. I have come to the conclusion that many people are split over who has the best tune. It seems to be like a burger spot in a way that one guy loves Five Guys and the other swears by In and Out burger. One thing that stands out in my mind is reliability. I care about numbers to a point, but what I'm looking for is more all around performance, consistency and reliability. All that being said, I have not read why some guys made the decision they did. Why did you purchase Bama? Why did you purchase AED? Etc...
I was told by a friend of mine that I have MOD fever. This is true! But I like doing things right the first time and spending money I won't regret.

I was convinced by Bama that they had a very safe tune. They also have world class client service and Mike Wilson is a helluva guy (I have talked to him personally).

I was very happy with my Steeda tune and felt it was safe and reliable while making good power . Then I wanted an off road X to add a little power so I decided to give shaun at AED a shot on tuning my car . The Performance tune is fantastic and the car has never felt better .Its a safe tune and I really dont see how you coukd squeeze out any more power with my setup. The car is an animal now. Actually one forum members car made my mind up for me.

Saltydawg,

I'm sure you're going to be very happy with any of these company's. However let me give you a little background on Bama!

For every Bama Tune we ask you 19 questions about your specific Mustang, including your unique mods and style of driving. This info helps us write custom tunes from the ground-up for your Mustang's mods that will give you the most horsepower that we can safely deliver. We're also constantly developing our tunes! Between our 14 different Project Mustangs and tons of street/track and dyno testing (on our in-house Dynojet 224xLC), we're looking for any minor tweaks to be made that can benefit you guys. We're also part of Fords Technology Transfer Program & Work very closely with Ford to insure that all of our tunes are perfect!

Another great benefit to ordering with Bama is our free tunes for life program. Anytime you add a new modification to your car, just give us a call and we'll send you a revised file in just a few minutes!

This is just the beginning of what Bama has to offer you. Let me know if you have any questions or need some assistance!

You can't go wrong with anyone of these tuners that are well known around in this forum.
AED, Brenspeed, Bama, Evolution performance, lethal performance.
After all email tunes are not that different from each other if your car is lightly modded. Tunes for cai, boss intake, offroad pipes, LTs are pretty much standard now and companies have a ton of experience. Unless you go for a custom dyno tuning for your supercharged car, feel free to pick any tuner mentioned above.

I'm a happy AED customer. I started with BBR and got a solid tune - definite performance increase over stock. I asked for data logs afterward and received a response of "We charge additional to read data logs and if your car runs great there is no need to data log." Well, I'm not a firm believer in "one size fits all" tunes that don't need any adjustment. I saw the success Shaun was having with his car at AED and heard about the top notch customer service, so I decided to try his tunes. Everything I heard was true. I started late on a Friday afternoon - sent Shaun my before data logs - ensuring my car was already running normal. Got my tune, did my after data logs - ensuring everything was up to snuff. That alone gave me extra peace of mind whether it was really necessary or not. In my case, my car needed a little more fuel, so I got my revised tunes shortly there after. And the car runs like a raped ape on his tune. As good as BBR was over stock, I'm that much more impressed with my AED tune. His prices were a little higher, but I felt I got what I paid for in terms of customer service/experience. It's ultimately up to you whats more important to you in a tuner, but I like knowing Shaun is there if I have a question and I'll even get a response from him on the weekends.

Thanks for the Steeda props!

OP, let me know if I can help you with anything. Shoot me a PM if you'd like to discuss our tuning details more.

And yes, Five Guys makes the best burger.

What is the best 1/4 mile a bolt-on Bama, Steeda, BBR, Lethal/Lund, etc. car has turned?

Shaun from AED cranked off 10.9s this weekend in his personal car. Adam from Revolution, an AED supported tuner, went 10.73s this weekend.

AED has had zero #8 failures. They don't need a warranty, because they don't blow up motors. It is that simple. Send Shaun an e-mail at 6 pm regarding nitrous, I get a call at 7:30 to discuss it. I went with the best and the fastest for a reason. 25,000+ miles on my AED tune, over 50 passes at the track and perfect daily driven reliability.

You know who I recommend.

Mike

Thank you all for your feedback! It seems like trial and error, but like by9468840 said they are probably not that different considering my mods are similar to what most people do.

J Orbit... You have a point. Whataburger is my GO TO after a show.

Will be going with AED here in a couple of weeks. Sounds like he is not happy unless your car is running at its full potential with his tune. Complete customer satisfaction. Have not found one negative comment on his work yet.

I know that people have stated here that Bama offers quick turnaround and excellent service, maybe it takes a few days to email revised tunes. Sent the datalogs yesterday, so will see how long it takes for a response. With the heavy knocking, I hope no damage was done to the engine despite going WOT 3 times after driving around 20 miles for the datalogs. So far, I'm not impressed, and I think I will play it safe with stock....
Proteus220,

Im really sorry that our tune wasnt spot-on and superior the first time, but I know that we can get it dialed in for you and performing the best that your car possibly can.

The turn around time on something like this is usually about 48 hours. However I'm going to get you taken care of now! Shoot me a PM with your order number included and I'll have my head tuning specialist Mike Wilson contact you directly.

Hang in there, You'll be enjoying your tune in no time!

The best tune is a dyno tune, since you live in Plano like me I suggest you head over to HPP Racing in Lewisville. They are great!
