Wheel fitment questions - American Muscle

Black w/ Polished Lip TSW Valencia Mustang Wheel - 19x9.5 (05-14 All) 1995VAL405114B76 - Free Shipping!

Will these wheels fit all around? i know they say rear only, but the offset may be correct? anyone have any knowledge of these wheels for 9.5 all around. Will it just limit my tire selection? i was planning on running a smaller front anyways. keep 255 front, and go 275 rear

I don't see any reason they wouldn't fit up front with 255/40-19's unless possibly your car is significantly lowered. Other than trading away half an inch of sidewall height for a 1" increase in wheel size, you'll be within about 1/4" of where a set of 2008 GT500 front wheels (18 x 9.5) and tires (255/45-18) would sit. The little thumbnail plot of those two sizes is close enough to give you a good idea how your setup compares to the GT500's with OE 18's.

The wheels in your link have a +40 offset, the GT500's through FRPP are +45, so there isn't all that much difference and a 27" tall 255-wide tire isn't big enough for it to matter.

I'm running the front GT500 wheels and GT500 tire size setup all around and nothing has rubbed, ever. My car is not lowered, but I do get the front suspension moving pretty good under cornering and braking.

You could definitely fit a 9.5" wide wheel up front on your Mustang, however the offset is why we recommend rear usage only. Your average Mustang offset is going to be around +24 - +30. These TSW wheels are a little more aggressive with the +40! You could give them a shot at your own risk, I'm not 100% sure how the fitments to be.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions or need some assistance in the near future! Our Mustang Experts are here Monday-Friday from 9AM-9PM EST and Saturdays from 9AM-5:30PM EST. If you want to hit them up, their number is 866.727.1266. I can also have one of them call you directly.

Dan - as far as I know, the OE wheel offsets for the S197 chassis all vary between about +38 and +50. Including the GT500's 18 x 9.5's. It's the Fox/SN95 wheel offsets - the ones down in the +20's - that'll get him in trouble at 9.5" wide.

That's correct, the Fox/Sn95 offset was around +24. However, to make it easier on our customers we started designing all of our wheels with the +30 offset. Basically so that our wheels will fit any gen mustang!

There's a select few that we don't manufacture that will have an offset around +40, such ass the TSW's.

I hope this makes things more clear. Please let me know if you have any further questions or need some assistance!

My Roush 18X10 wheels with +45 offset fit at all 4 corners and clear my Brembo brakes. I have 275/40/18 up front without room for anything more. I have 305/40/18 on the rear. If the add says it doesn't fit up front, I wouldn't chance it. You can try buying the two rear wheels and checking the fitment on the front. If they fit up front, order 2 more. If they don't fit up front, order 19X8. If you're not interested in the set if they can't be 9.5 at all 5 corners, Discount tire company can order one wheel, check fitment, and return if it doesn't work.

2012 Mustang GT: Edelbrock E-Force Supercharger; Steeda UCA & LCA; BBK Long Tube Headers & x pipe; 3.73, Brembo, Roush 18X10, Nitto 555R Drag Radial 305/40/18, Magnaflow Cat Back. I am just lucky my wife let me buy and modify this car.

As long as you're buying wheels for the appearance and aren't trying to mount tires that are too wide for them, that's certainly a safe approach.

It's when you have a cornering performance first/last/always attitude that you start having to do a little more work on your own. In this case, comparing against the larger OE Ford fitments will provide guidance that's about as reliable as it gets. As does the word of somebody like Terry Fair, who has verified 18x10's at +43 offset with at least three different tire sizes (265/40/18, 275/40/18, and 295/35/18) as fitting the front of the S197.
