I am looking to build the 6R80 in my Mustang GT

I would like to find a good used trans to send out to be built, so I am not without my car for a few weeks

I know my trans has a part number BR3P-7000-BA

I am having a hard time finding a V8 trans, but can find tons of V6 trans with a part number of BR3P-7000-AA

If I want a V8 trans they want 2 grand or more, can buy a V6 for 600-800

If I am going to be going through the trans, and upgrading the clutches and intermediate shaft, would the V6 trans be ok

There are afew differences, less friction discs are used, the gear ratios are slightly different and bell housing bolt pattern is slightly different.That being said a reliable transmission rebulider will be able to make mods to improve the V6 tranny to compare to the v8.
 
But you likely won't be able to mount it to the V8 due to the bell housing difference.

These transmissions come from the factory damn near bullit proof. What makes you think you need to have the transmission built Don?

I have a built motor on the way, going to be around 800 rwhp

I am trying to do the engine and trans at the same time

I found a good 5000 mile transmission, for a very good price out of a 2014 GT

It is getting a clutch pack and intermediate shaft upgrade next week. Should be able to handle the extra HP
