Power Loss / Hesitation

I have some power loss/ hesitation at full throttle at around 4k. Not sure what is causing the issue and my first thought is possibly bad gas? The issue doesn't happen every time but is easily repeatable.

I have a 2012 GT, manual, with an AirRaid CAI. No tune. (The one the doesn't require a tune and I have had it on over a year.)

I am not getting any codes, had this issue for about 2 weeks.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for your input!

Your throttle body or MAF sensor could be dirty. Clean the sensor with MAF cleaner. Check the throttle body for build up.

Also, when was the last change to your fuel filter? Easy thing to do.

Hey Exotic,

Gman definitely has you on the right track. I would definitely start with cleaning the MAF along witht he throttle body and intake filter.

Are there any lights popping up when it starts to hesitate?

I'm here to help if you ever need anything!

Isnt the filter in the gas tank..... Its not like the older cars where its right by the frame under the car, and you can switch in 10 min. Also i believe we dont even need to change ours for like 150,000 miles or somthing ungodly like that.

Penguin, you are correct. I was thinking of my 2006 with the in line deal.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

I will get started tomorrow morning and keep you posted. Yeah I don't think it has a fuel filter that needs to be changed.

Ill take down my CAI and check everything twice.
Ill check the MAF and clean it, and clean the throttle body.
I am going to do an oil change as well just to cross that off.
Ill leave the battery unhooked while doing all this to reset.
I have no engine light or error codes as well as no traction control lights while this is happening.

I did notice it sounds a little different in the mornings sometimes on first start, like a little louder engine chatter/lifter ticking.

Also I have had it fight to stay idle once, kind of like a hiccup.

Well there's my plan of attack. Ill keep everyone posted!

Bump on an old thread. Did you ever figure out the problem? mine is doing it too. Bama 93 race tune, JLT CAI, off road x pipe and roush exhaust. No codes are being thrown. It does not do it in 1st or 2nd gear but I can hear and feel it in 3rd 4th and 5th.
