I have 3.55s on my Roushcharged 2012 GT; perfect amount of acceleration. Anything shorter and 1st gear would be pointless.

There may be a sticker on the rear cover. Or if you feel like jacking the car up you could put a reference mark on the drive shaft and tire. Then rotate the rear wheels by hand exactly one complete revolution while counting the drive shaft revolutions. That will give you the ratio. If you have 3:31 gears the drive shaft will rotate 3 1/3 turns to one rotation of the tire.

rear end gears

I wish I had 3:55's instead of the 3:73's. Although the 3:73s are good for pulling around slow corners in traffic without down shifting. In 4th gear I can easily pull out of a corner at 20 mph without lugging the engine.

The 3:73's are also good for removing that nasty extra rubber from your tires in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. 😎

I found this...

Inside the driver side door the codes are:
BB - 3.73 ratio
CC - 2.73 ratio
DD - 3.55 ratio
GG - 3.31 ratio
YY - 3.15 ratio

I am pretty sure the standard gears on a 5.0 are 3.31 I have never heard of of one with 3.15 but if for some reason you have that gear I would for sure change it to a 3.55 . I have 3.73 and they are fine for now but once I supercharge I will go to either 3.55 or maybe even back to 3.31 after we do the math on the tire height, hp, torque etc - since I do not want to have to shift to 5th at the back end. Right now I am at abt 7400 rpm and 118mph in 4th gear at the trap with 420rwhp needless to say these gears will not work with a supercharger putting down over 550rwhp

3.15's were the factory fitment for the 2014 GT if it had the automatic transmission. I don't know if you could have ordered a 2014 GT with AT to have any different ratios. Link. I assume that "LS" in that link means the usual T-lok limited slip differential.

You'd never heard of 3.15's being used so I found out where they were for you.

Now, what's meant here by "point and shoot transmission" in the context of axle gears? Not picking on you; I really don't know what you mean by it.

Point and shoot means automatic transmission, you put it in drive and go.

If your car is an auto then you have 3.15's which is the only factory option on the 2011-2014 cars. The gearing in the autos are aggressive so those 3.15's are really closer to a 3.55 gear when you do the math.
