2012 Mustang GT Manual - rough idle/revving/stalling

Hello! I have an issue with rough idling, revving when in neutral, and intermittent stalling when in neutral. Specs are:

2012 Ford Mustang GT/California Special
5.0L V8
Manual Transmission
51K miles
Aftermarket cold-air intake

I have tried cleaning the throttle body with throttle body cleaner, cleaning the MAF sensor with MAS cleaner, and tightening the intake hose to ensure it's stable and airtight.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any fixes?

what intake? what tune?

Unfortunately, I have no idea - purchased from a dealer about two months ago, and I can't find any branding on the intake. I'm also not sure if it was tuned by the previous owner; but there are a few aftermarket parts that have been installed. I'll post a pic of the intake in a few hours over lunch.

a lot of CAI's for the V8 require tunes. Did it just start or has it done this since you had it?

WAG's:

bad tank of gas?

look in the manual (online if needed) for idle re-learn procedure.

2012 V6 traded in for a 2017 VW GTI.

I noticed a slight revving during the test drive, but I couldn't attribute it to anything, so I didn't worry about it. It seemed to get worse since I have owned it, and has only stalled three times, once while moving, and twice while stopped; all three times after shifting into neutral.

I will definitely check the manual for idle re-learn; hadn't even thought of that.

Previous owner probably returned car to stock with the tuner and kept it. Hence the horrible running condition, buy a calibration and a tuner and be all set! This is a common problem that we run into weekly with used cars and aftermarket parts. We have what you need, call us.

This got me curious but couldn't find it my manual (2014). Is it when you turn the key to just before start the push throttle down slowly and back up?

it involves 5-10 minutes of idle mayhap with accesories off. You can find manuals online. I doubt it will help but simple/free

2012 V6 traded in for a 2017 VW GTI.

I would get a stock intake assembly and sell what you currently have on the car.

2014 Sterling gray GT 6M
