Oil cooler project continues

Ok, so those following along know I am working on my car this winter and have serval projects. I am installing an engine oil cooler and it works by thermostat with a sandwich plate -mishimoto - so looking at the sandwich plate it appears that the filter is only going to filter when the thermostat is open. Is this correct?

Also I am trying to determine what gauge bung is best to use for the oil pressure. This project is a challenge because mishimoto provide no directions with unit. No video either - they may claim they have an install video but I have not been able to find it lol. I can handle the install but with no directions I have a bunch of questions. Going to make some calls tomorrow.

if you have pictures of the components or part numbers to look up the parts you have. However usually the oil oiler kits only bypass the cooler when the T-stat is closed which still allows the filter to work. But again so me pictures of the parts being used will help.
