Unhappy Replacement Coil Pack Pigtail

Hey Folks,

After looking into a missfire today I've found that one of the pigtails that connects to the coilpacks is broken, little red lock tab and retainer ring are missing.

I've found that LMR stock the Motorcraft WPT-931 as a replacement repair connector. Now when I look this up the connector body looks identical to those on my stock car BUT it's 3 wire and my car is only 2 wire

Now looking at the coil packs these 'might' fit, the centre wire being unused but I'm not sure.

Can anyone help, I've put a cable tie on the broken connector until I get a replacement sorted but it just feels wrong

Have you disconnected the connector and looked inside to see how many holes there are for pins to be inserted? It may be the plug is designed to handle up to three wires but only two are used and one pin hole will be empty.

The locktab can go away and the connector will still click shut properly. I had one of those broken on my last car for over a year. If it won't click in though, that's another story.
