2012 Boss 302 Vs 2016 GT Performance Package

I just recently sold my beloved 2014 mustang GT with 16k miles on it. I have modified the car just the way i wanted it and have enjoyed every process/modifications that i did. Now I'm torn between a new 2016 mustang GT base with performance package or a 2012 mustang boss 302 with 12k miles on it.

whats you take on this and which car would i enjoy more. don't race car, have a knack for modifying it a little bit. would be my daily drive just love having a nice powerful mustang.

The 2016 Mustang. It comes with some nice bells & whistles and the IRS. Besides, there isn't going to be much of a difference between your 2014 and the 2012 Boss.

A Boss 302 with 3000 mile per year average on it depending on the cost is an attractive situation. I'm not dissing the 2016, but you won't have too many chances to grab a Boss.

For the same money 16 GT pp. Put the gt350 intake and tb and you would have really fun car.

Why did you dump your 14? I have my GT/CS finally just the way I want it and it's not leaving....

im kinda leaning towards that idea also but still it is used and on a new one i kinda enjoy doing mods. but i know in the long run a very low boss 302 would have more value especially I'm a less than 10k a year driver

Who's "they" offered you 5k? What did you owe? What model 14? Lol... Little advice, no dealer is going to give you a big discount and give you more than your trade is worth...

A boss driven as daily is going to depreciate like everything else. Good luck.

I think your Blue 14 looks damn good. Why get rid of it if you just got it to where you like it?

2014 GT Ingot Silver with GT500 Axelbacks, Ford Racing shift ball, painted coil covers and hood vents. Tinted fog lights. OEM strut tower brace.

As much as I love Boss 302's, for your purposes the 2016 GT PP is a much better fit. It's cozy (MUCH better interior than the previous gen), it has all the bells and whistles you'll get used to using, but it's just as effective as the Boss and can put power down when you need to, the Boss's are basically stripped down to be a road legal racecar. If you do get a Boss, at least go for a 2013, they added in a few things like Track Apps that they didn't have in 2012.

they are a little bit tame compared to a muffler deletes which i used to have. but if you downshift thats where all the fun begins.

If you're looking to get something to modify go for the 2016, I would think modifying the boss would only be hurting value.

tamboRL and possumpotpie like this.

Engine mods - all stock, trust me, wanna run??!!!
