Still trying to figure this out

So at 65mph in 6th gear with a 28.4 tall tire I am running 2250 RPMs. Does that sound like 4.10s or 3.73s

There are some on-line calculators where you can plug all of that in and get the answer (speed for given engine RPM, transmission ratio, rear end ratio, and tire size). I don't have the links handy but they have been posted here several times so hopefully you can find them with a few searches.

Well this tells me I have 4.10 which confirms my suspescions. Which also tells me ford isn't going to do anything to help me out.

What's going on? Noise?

Fixing the rear is a relatively straightforward job, as long as the person doing takes a little time with setup. 8.8s get more finicky the bigger the ratio gets.

You can double check by jacking the car up, marking the DS with a grease pencil or similar and turning the wheel or shaft. Then you have the exact amount of rotation of the wheel for the rotation of the shaft. I use a particular axle stud for counting. Instant ratio check and physical confirmation, no calculation.

Yes a loud whine. I plan on jacking it up, but as of right now we are being hammered by storms and flooding so I haven't wanted to get outside and do it ?
