Custom Exhaust Questions | Mustang 5.0

Hello fellow mustang lovers. I recently installed a set of Borla Over Axle Pipes and the Pypes O/R H-Pipe on my 14 GT - but still rocking the stock mufflers until I decide on the axle backs I want.

However, after installing the h-pipe and over axles - I get a stunning sound of nails raping a tin can at over 4k prm. Wondering if that is due to the stock mufflers??? Just wondering what causes that sound exactly - will hopefully help me in making the final selection. Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you've got a clearance issue - if you'll pardon the pun....
At revs the drivetrain may be torqued enough to have a portion of the exhaust system touching either the floor of the car, the axle, the sway bar etc....I'd check that and maybe which way the clamps are pointing...you might just need to loosen and turn a clamp away from potential contact.

Bet money it's either your H or one of the OTAs hitting the driveshaft or your left OTA pipe is hitting the panhard bar cross brace. Despite all the locating hangers, these cars do need to have things fettled into the right position before tightening stuff down.

sweet - thanks for the replies. I had a local shop install, so I'll take it back and have them take a look at potential causes.
