Whipple install & tune charge...what's reasonable?

Hey guys - I reached out to JDM as they are not too far from me, about installing a Whipple kit on my 2012 5.0 auto, and I know they have an excellent reputation and are superb tuners, but damn, they want $2080.00 for install and another $850 for dyno tuning.

Almost $3k for install and tune of an FRPP whipple kit? Even as good as they are is that really reasonable? I remember dealers and even Rousch charging $900-$1000 for S/C installs. I also remember dyno tunes being $350...

Here is the kit by the way:

2011-2014 Mustang GT 5.0 Whipple 650 HP Power Package - JDM Engineering

They listed the install time as 2 days. American Muscle lists the kit as 1-day install time. I don't get the whole day thing though, what matters is hours. But anyhow, I would think experienced techs would be able to do it easily in less time, not more time. I'm not looking to criticize them, I'm looking for feedback to see if I am alone in thinking this is a bit unreasonable, or if I'm outdated with my expectations.

You are in Long Island, so I can imagine the costs being slightly higher there. But I would think it would be closer in line to the costs I see here in the Bay Area of CA.

I paid $1,500 for my install. No tune. This is with the Whipple supplied tune. I sourced 3 estimates...one was for $1,000 and the other was $2,000. I chose the one right in the middle. Shop around.

2012 Mustang GT, Ingot Silver, 6M, 3.73, Brembo.
Whipple 2.9, Flowmaster AT Cat Back 817500.
