Driveshaft

Hey guys I am new to this forum I have a 2014 mustang GT. I am ordering a new aluminum driveshaft. Has anyone measured it and knows the length of it and the Ujoint bolt measurement. Just wondering before I measure it to see if anyone has already had one made and knows the exact measements.

Thanks

Most people order one from a regular manufacture that specializes in driveshafts. They know the measurements.

Yeah I know but I can save half the money for just as good as a drive shaft. So going to go this route.

I got one from Shaftmasters. All they needed to know was year, model, tranz etc. They know the length.

You get what you pay for. I doubt that a small shop has the experience or a balancer like the one DSS uses. The s197 chassis can be very prone to harmonics and the driveshaft certainly plays into that.

It isn't a straight double u joint shaft as well. The rear joint is a CV style.

Then better take the car to them so they can measure and take responsibility for it being correct. Otherwise when it doesn't fit, they will blame your measurements.

And like the others said, I would be very leary . . . and be aware of the differences between CV and U joint . . . sounds to me like this has a good chance of becoming a nightmare.

Just go with shaftmasters, they are the cheapest option but the quality is great. Going custom leads for great potential for headaches or worse.

2014 Mustang GT 6R80, Procharger Stage 2 D1SC, BBK 85mm TB, Boss IM, Sai Li fuel system. Circle D 3C, 1-7/8" Kooks Long Tubes w/Offroad X Pipe, Lethal Over-Axle Pipes, Corsa Quad Axle-Back, Eibach Pro System Plus, BMR K member, Shaftmasters DS, Forgestar CF-5 Wheels and Nitto NT05 tires. Lund Tuned

Lots of suspension goodies and some other stuff I can't remember.

Great thing about SM is they include everything you need to do the conversion right down to the socket you need to pull the bolts!

Shaftmasters also has sales from tie to time. Great service and good communication. Guarantee with 100% satisfaction was why I went with them.
