tsb 12-8-14 question

I ordered the kit for this tsb (a/c belt tensioner). I will be doing it myself since I have to many mods to even attempt to take it to ford. In the install instructions it talks about reprograming. Is that part just ford resetting the computer or is there really something that needs to be changed in the tune. I have an AED tune right now.

Why are you doing that TSB to your 2014? I had it done to my 2011 to stop the knocking but the 2014 front cover was redesigned
so not to have that problem.

the cover was redesigned yes. but that's not the problem. the problem is the belt is unforgiving. the cover was changed so you do not need to modify the cover anymore to do this tsb. the holes are already drilled and tapped. I have that tick/knock sound and this is suppose to fix it from what ive read. it was $80 at latemodel restoration so I'm giving it a try.

the f150's come from the factory with the tensioner (I think).. I'm not sure why the mustangs don't.

If you have knocking cut the stretchy belt off and see if the knocking stops, if it does you will know the belt is the problem and not something
else.

im doing it anyway whether its the cause of the problem or not. the stetchy belt idea is retarded and a pain to change.

I installed it yesterday and drove 110 miles. I stopped a few times and idled to see if I could hear it. I never heard a single tick after the install. Maybe my car just didn't want to tick today or maybe the tsb really works. It was an easy install. Would have been a lot easier if I took the cold air intake out for more room but I didn't.

I was a bit confused on which way the pulley went. One side has a thick lip and the other has a thinner lip. I put it on with the think side toward the motor. Everything looks lined up so I think its the correct way.

I have about 300 miles on it with the tsb done. I haven't heard a tick since.
