Tire size help

So I just got a steal on some 19x8.5 MMD Axioms from a guy who had never mounted them, 2 of them still have their boxes! Now, I'm new to tire sizing and have seen various tires I should go with on other forums and ect. Right now I am thinking about going with a 255/40/19. Is this the best option or should I go with a 245?
Thanks!

255/40 19 is what the v6 Performance Package and Brembo GT ran or 245/45 19 is the optional 19 inch on the GT

Yeah, 8.5" kind of limits you. 255 is the widest you really should go, 245 is more ideal.

I have 19"x8.5" rims, and I put 275's on them without a problem at all.

Thanks for the replies!
I know the 8.5 kind of limits me a bit but when you get a good deal you got to go for it. Do y'all have and suggestions on tires them selves? I'm leaning toward these Firestone Firehawks: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...um=54WR9FHI5XL

Thanks!

I've heard really good things about those Firestones. I tried to buy them for my fronts, but they were back ordered for a month so I ended up with Sumitomos.

For the guy running extra wide tires, just because you can do something doesnt mean you should. Look at the rim width range for those 255 tires the OP just linked, it's 8.5-10. Now go look at that spec for your size tire

I actually had 275 on my 8.5 inch Performance package wheels and they really did feel a bit squirrelly in the corners, the 275/40 19 feel better on the 9 inch wheels. 1/2 inch really does do a lot.
Continental DW Summer or DWS if you need an all season.
