I appreciate the link above to the SVT forum thread. I've been wondering what I'd do if the calipers I ordered didn't ship with a cross-over tube. There was a link buried in that thread to replacement cross-over tubes!

I realized when I clicked on the "place order" button that I was rolling the dice as to the origin of manufacture on these calipers. It's not that I don't care about my safety or the general safety of the motoring public around me; but when you consider all of the angles trying these things isn't too large of a risk. Consider companies like O'Reilly's Auto Parts and whoever re-manufactured/manufactured/markets the calipers. They have lawyers and liability to worry about. Not to mention, I bet no one has heard horrible stories of these things being installed onto cars and then a rash of car accidents occurring. In my opinion, the risk is low enough to be acceptable.

Fingers crossed though that I receive a set with FoMoCo and Brembo cast into the back side!

GLOCKer:

You won’t get the ones with the FoMoCo stamping. Companies have nearly universally switched over to the Chinese remanufactured products, due to shortages in supply of OEM stock and legal/licensing issues with Brembo. Brembo has a whole section on their website concerning remanufactured calipers and how they do not sanction them as true Brembo calipers.

Looking for a big brakes upgrades also, but I'm more into a full package than taking parts here and there.
Waiting for some news from Galpin Auto Sports in Los Angeles, where I did a lot of upgrades on my 2011 GT/CS, we'll see what they will come up with, and at what price...

Check this out! (Someone linked this before)

This is basically the kit I'm building but without the nickle and dime-ing the parts together.

This is the kit I got, my cousin went with the nickel and dime-ing approach. Only thing I did was upgrade the rear rotors to the 13-14 shelby sized ones from centric and used that caliper bracket. Brakes work great.

So I came home to find my calipers waiting on the front porch!

Pros:
-Seem like a nice quality for the price!

Cons:
-The hardware kits kind of suck. One of the kits comes with aluminum washers and brass sliders. The other has brass washers and aluminum sliders. WTH?! LOL

So I'm thinking of finishing them in Grabber Blue caliper paint but I can't decide on white or black Brembo logos.

This is interesting. I never considered that the "remanufactured" calipers would actually be knockoffs. In that sense they wouldn't necessarily be remanufactured after all. They would be a new part- for whatever that's worth.

For a color like grabber blue I say black brembo decals.

I just ordered the stainless steel lines and StopTech brake pads...
Here is where I'm at with the project:
$241.66 - "Brembo" calipers from O'Reilly Auto Parts (Includes $64.00 in core charges)
$32.50 - used GT500 brake shields
$82.18 - G2 caliper paint - Grabber Blue
$201.43 - Stainless steel (front & back) brake lines, StopTech pads (front)
$3.72 - Brembo brake caliper decals (I had an Amazon credit!)
$0.00 - 14" Ford take-off rotors

$561.47 - Total

I'm trying to decide if I want to hold on to my stock calipers or turn them in for the $64 in core charges...

I'm leaning towards doing that. I just updated my numbers; I added the Brembo caliper decals.

GLOCKer:

I believe that the G2 caliper paint is brush on. With the cash that you’ve invested into your calipers, I personally would never consider brush on paint. I would lightly sand, primer (also acts as a fill agent), paint, then clear. All those products can be found specifically designed for brake calipers. Good luck!
