2011 Camaros updates

They are upping the V6 rated horspower to 312 and coming out with some kind of "earth green" color to celebrate a greener world.

...Gimmicky to "look better on paper"

The Heads up display coming out on the SS looks pretty cool though.

I love the HUD's, my mother-in-law had one on her Grand Prix GTP several years back, coolest thing ever. Out of all the fancy options you could get for a car, a HUD would be my number one choice.

I really like how Ford stepped up and threw down the gauntlet to the opposition. HUD support is an interesting response and I'm interested to see what Dodge is going to do.

304 to 312 HP? Sounds like they just scratched the old number off and decided the new one was going to have 312 HP. :-/

lol 312 ain't going to do **** either. The camaro is still a fat cow, an ugly fat cow. All they probably did was add an after-market exhaust setup, woopee!

Elenora. Watch out, she may kick.

They should do the HUD if for no other reason than the fact that looking at that ugly cheap dash makes my eyes BLEED!

As for the HP increase they will need alot more than that to compete with the mustang V6!

I sat in a Camaro at a dealership while getting my window tint done, just had to try. The seat felt good, trying to suck me in, but looking at the interior made me realize I am not missing a thing. Mustang rules!

The 312 number is not a different engine in ANY WAY. They just said Oh it was underrated before so now we're going to push it up to 312.

I think Ford should bring the '11 GT to 435 in response.

I don't think we should be worried about the camaros.

From Autoblog.com:

"...One note: There were no actual changes made to the Camaro's V6 engine that resulted in a power increase. Rather, Chevy says the current 304-hp rating was conservative and a new SAE certification resulted in 312 hp. So that means anyone who bought a 2010 Camaro V6 shouldn't feel shortchanged, as their engine is just as powerful as the 2011 model that will start production on June 7th."

lol nice try Chevy. So does that mean I can rate my own horsepower now? Instead of 210, it now has 240! Wow! I feel so damn special!

312 Hp and just as slow!

I remember an interview with Chevy regarding how they'll answer to Ford's 1 hp increase, and the response was "I can't say anything right now, but we have a big surprise"

...Ta-da...
