Trans

Don't know what they had for 2010.

2011 6-speed is a joint venture between Getrag and Ford.

I believe this applies to both manual (on the GT) and auto trans

No more Tremec manual trans

There is a video about the new trans I've seen but can't locate that video at this time.

I'm sure glad that Ford dropped the Tremec (made in Mexico) tranny from the Mustang lineup. I used to own a 2002 GT 5-spd that always had that annoying grind between 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd shifts. Most everyone had the same problem.
I haven't heard any complaints from new owners so I'm assuming (hoping) that the new 6-spd is doing OK!?

...too bad the new manuals are made by our communist friends in China at a Joint-Venture Getrag/Ford transmission plant. I still rather have stuff made in Mexixo or even better, in the good 'ol USA.

I'll take a better transmission no matter where it comes from.

Yes,

I hear yah about the parts made overseas, but I will say , Getrag tranny’s have always been very desirable and great in performance applications.

So, I am looking forward to having that product in the 2011 GT.

By the way, have a 2008 GT 5 speed, in my opinion, I test drove 5.0 six speed, I though it was much smoother and quieter for sure.
