Frontend length

How long does it take to get accustom to the long frontend on the Mustang? Is it a never ending battle to overcome the long frontend or does all that go away after a few weeks of driving?

You just get used to it after while and then you wont even notice it unless your driving another car

What long front end? What were you driving before a Smart car? The front over hang is delightfully short. The hood blister impedes the view of the front edge of the hood but even cars with short front ends can have that problem.

Concerned about the wife, not so much me as I have always run larger 4x4 pickup trucks. The wife is coming off of a 04 Toyota Highlander.

I'm not having trouble with the long front end, but with the short rear end. Everyone seems to be stopping so much closer to me than they did when I was driving the pickup.

Indeed.

Hell, try driving a 4th-gen F-body. After 7 years of dealing with that long hood and steeply-raked windshield, my '06 was like a revelation by comparison!

I would imagine it just takes a few drives to get used to it. I'll be coming off a Jeep Wrangler, which is basically a roller skate. I'll probably lean forward in tight situations for a little while, then just get a good sense of where the car is. Don't worry about it.

You will get used to it. And yes, believe it or not, the Mustangs do have a long front end. In fact, I had mine parked next to my wife's 300C the other day and both cars are about the same length, but you wouldn't know it when you get inside both of them. The hood on the Mustang is much longer.

It is no problem for me, as I'm used to cars with long hoods (Trans Ams, etc.). However, based upon many Mustangs I saw while looking and used ones, many people have an issue with this, as many of them had dings on the front bumper or hood.
