What is this for ?

On top of the dashboard, right in the center next to the windshield, is some kind of small plastic lump you can see like something inside.

What is this for ?

do you have automatic lights? it might be the sensor to turn the lights on, my moms 04 expiditon has one and thats what its for on the truck, do you have a pic of it?

1993 lx hatch, 5 speed, all stock except american muscle cai, flowmaster mufflers, hids and a pro 5.0 shifter, more to come soon.

That is the sensor for your auto headlamps. If you put your hand over it and keep it there for a few seconds, your headlights will turn on. Try it when its light outside and you have the switch set to auto. Try it sometime.

It is the Daytime Running Lights activator. In order to activate this feature, carefully place a piece of heavy black tape over it.
