I also shopped the 370Z. Roadster version with the electronics package I wanted would have cost me an extra $10k, and I would probably have to choose from existing stock.

2011 Mustang V-6 Premium Convertible, 5-11-2010. Paid $800 on 09-19-14 to replace hood with paint bubbles, traded car for a Chrysler later same day

Spent 6 years in an Eclipse Turbo with nothing but Mustangs before and after ... if I had to go a different way than Mustang, it'd be AWD and Turbo, but have no idea what.... (EcoBoost Flex? Taurus SHO? ... or an import...)

2011 GT Premium, Grabber Blue, Brembo, 3.73, etc.
1978 Mustang II T-Top, 351W, Tremec 3550
1978 Mustang II Coupe, 2.3L Turbo, Holset, MegaSquirt

I was suprised to see som many people who thought along the same lines I was. I was very serious about the 370 Nismo, then I heard the 2011 stang was coming out and decided to rethink my decision.

2011 premium GT. Sterling Grey metalic with Charcoal interior. Roush Axlebacks. Redline hood struts. Shelby GT500 style rims. Smoked side markers. Comfort package with GT coupe Accessories #5. Don't Judge me for the accessories pack, I'm a recovering Ricer...

Other rides:
2011 Mazda CX-7 Touring Turbo
2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Funny, a cheap used ranger is our other car and what I use to keep the miles off the mustang. Grocery getting and other local errands.

2008 manual GT with deluxe trim, Edelbrock e-force, FRPP GTB Mufflers. 3.73 gears, Coast Ultralight Drive-shaft. 18" OEM Polished Bullitts, Webelectric Sequentials, XM built into the Shaker 500. Alarm and Escort RedLine.

Without a doubt, the challenger. The only reason that I haven't bought a challenger, is I am waiting for a convertible.

For sure. Looks like Nissan lost some sales to Ford. It's also interesting that so many people's second choices are all over the spectrum - BMW, Audis, etc. Mustangs are competing in the marketplace with far more than just other pony cars.

2011 GT premium, Red metallic, black interior, 19" wheels, manual transmission, 3.55 ratio, electronics and comfort packages, camera, HID

I was dead set on a Camaro and if the 2011 Mustang was a rehash of the 2010, I'd be driving a Camaro today. I liked the Camaro, but decided to wait on the 2011 Mustang just to see. Mustang beat it from the start during the test drive. Other cars I considered were the Genesis and Rx-8. I was leaning more to the pony car, and the Challenger was out from the beginning - they look nice on the outside but that's about all they have going for them. If you had asked me everyday since I was old enough to know about cars I would have said I'd never buy a Mustang, especially if a Camaro still existed. Now I'm older and wiser and have a Mustang. MY dad is in the same boat now and he really wants a Camaro but he knows after driving my Mustang that the Mustang is better.

I love me my Audi's. But the performance and and value the mustang offered got me to take a look.

Took a test drive and fell in love, can't believe this car is made by an American company. The interior looks amazing, exterior even more so.

Just waiting to place my order for:

V6 Prem Couple
Sterling Grey, 6sp Manual
Perf Pack
Mustang Club of America Pack
Hids/Security pack

Another vote for the 370Z if we are talking only new and close in price per option level. To me,the Stang and the 370Z represent the best bang for the buck in their neighborhood.

I currently own a Ford F-150 and I was going to buy a new F-150 but then I thought to myself, "Self, if you buy a Mustang you can keep the truck too. If you buy another truck it will be time to get rid of the old truck." So the Mustang won out. But if I had not ordered the Mustang I would have ordered a new F-150.

Original Order: 5/22/10, Never scheduled.
Canceled by dealer on 8/11/10 (11 weeks).

New Order Placed By dealership: Build Date 8-26-10
Delivered 9-14-10!!!!

2011 Black Mustang GT Premium. 401A, Brembo Brakes, Glass Roof, Navigation, Rear Camera, Security Package, Comfort Package, 3.73 Rear End, 6 Speed Manual. Magnaflow exhaust.

I would go for challenger or Edge or wait for up coming Grand C-Max. Or a Mazda 5 maybe.
