2011 Mustang V6 1000 Lap Challenge RESULTS!!!

The 2011 V6 Mustang just finished up it's 1000 lap challenge at Bristol Motor Speedway. Bristol's track distance is 0.533miles. The test started at 7am this morning and ended at 12:45am tonight. It totaled 1457 laps on ONE TANK OF GAS, at an average of 48mph,(that's including driver changes.) The end MPG....48.530!!! Unbelivable.

48mph??? Thats probably in 6th gear at the lowest rpm capable without the engine lugging. No one drives 48 mph. I'd like to see him cruise at 70mph which is realistic and see what kind of mileage it gets.

Come on guys...this was not about a fuel mileage in a real world setting (that is the average mileage on the window sticker)...this was all about PR and they state that in the press release..never pretending to be a real world test. Regardless...for a 300+ hp car..still pretty impressive.
