Two Quick easy mods! Shorty Antenna and Redline Tuning Hood QuickLift

2011 Mustang BBR Billet Antenna
2010-2011 Mustang BBR Billet Antenna

First, since I don't even listen to AM or FM radio the antenna means nothing to me! So I replaced it with a Blow By Racing Billet Shorty.

I got this for $29.99 with free shipping, yeah I know...30 bucks is a lot to pay for something I want to get rid of! But as for the mod...simply unscrew the old and screw on the new...install time like 2 minutes! I still get good reception but I won't say if it was any better or worse than before.

Redline Tuning Hood QuickLift.
Redline Tuning 2005+ Ford Mustang QuickLIFT system - Lifts and holds your hood without prop rod.

I got the 2005-11 Mustang Quicklift Plus kit that ran me $94.76 with shipping. I like this kit more than the others I have seen than have large mounting brackets and iffy lower L-type connectors. This kit does require some drilling. 6 holes in total...4 in the hood (2 each side) and 2 in the fender brackets. The instructions that come with the kit are very clear and precise. I can't elaborate much more that they did. This install took less than an hour.

A couple of pointers for this install. Be sure to lay a larger towel/sheet over your fenders and engine bay when drilling the hood, this is to catch the metal shavings. A small bottle of touch up paint to dress u p the rivets after install.

Please understand all the water spots...I just got done driving thru a thunderstorm for 30 minutes and when I got home to snap the pictures the sun was shining bright and all the water evaporated! I usually keep my car spotless!

A unibit step drill makes the best hole in sheet metal.

A standard trwo-flute Jobbers bit makes a three-lobed hole, but the unitbit makes a round hole.

I just put on my BBR shorty antenna today, too. The pic is kind of grainy and the sun was setting, but you get the idea.
