Picked up 43 hp with a JLT CAI & BBR Tune on my 2011 Mustang GT 5.0L
I recently bought a 2011 Mustang GT 5.0L AUTOMATIC
I had BBR do a baseline on the car on their dynojet dyno and it made 350 rwhp / 332 rwtq 100% completely stock on 93 Octane fuel. I thought that was pretty stout for a stock automatic car. It's right on line for the 412 flywheel mark based on 17% drivetrain loss through the automatic.
I then had BBR tune it with a stock setup. It then made 375 rwhp / 354 rwtq on 93 octane with JUST A TUNE.
Then they installed a JLT Carbon Fiber CAI onto the car and it jumped up to an amazing 393 rwhp / 375 rwtq on 93 octane.
I'm just waiting for the dyno graphs to be e-mailed to me. As soon as I get them, I will upload them and post them up on here.
wow man thats great, good job doing a base line!!
Good increase in power for the cost. Glad you done before and after and on the same dyno, it gives results that are based on facts.
Was this performed the same day? those numbers seem very impressive.
The BBR tune is great. i cant wait to get my mine back on dyno since I've installed my JLT intake.
Not just the same day... But within the same hour. LOL
They did a baseline, installed the tune and did another pull and then it only took about 15 minutes to install the CAI and then they installed the CAI tune and made the final pull.
43hp and 45tq is a great gain for this setup.
Wow, great job as someone said, taking the steps up from the baseline...
There are those out there that think the CAI's are not worth the money, thats fine, to each his own opinon. Everyone should spend the money on what they want. I guess you go then with less expensive K&N filter alternate at that point to get some ponys or just leave it stock.
I have had CAI's on both my 2008 GT and 2011 with 93 octane tunes and I beleive they are worth every penny. Buying 12-19 hp to the wheels for $350-$375 is a very cost effective mod for the # of ponys. You can tell if and when you actually buy one and do the mod to your own car, that the car has more power and pull. Again IMO,, but the dyno numbers/charts you plan to post will surely help support the results you have realized.
Also interesting that Brenspeed has post very similar results over three months ago on their website in the listing for the Steeda CAI with 93 tune..:bigthumbsup
thanks again and enjoy that Stang !
Thanks! I'm just waiting for the graphs to be e-mailed to me. Should have them soon.
Wow, that's awesome for just a CAI and tune. Congrats on the purchase. Chris at BBR really knows his stuff.
He really does! He's great at tuning.
Where is the dyno sheet?
Wow, that's awesome! Any dyno graphs yet? How is the drive ability? Any issues thus far?
wow, that is an impressive gain! :)
I'm most impressed from the CAI numbers. I knew the tunes were worth the money, but for the CAI to add nearly as much hp is damn impressive.
There goes another $300....anyone want to buy a K&N? :D
