Wrong section, this is for 2011 and up. You'll have more luck asking the 2006 owners.

The transmission is controlled by the PCM (electronically) and you'd need to install a tune that has firm shift programmed into it. Keeping up with the new mustangs is only possible with a very costly rebuild or supercharging. You can load it to the tits with aftermarket performance parts and still fall behind. Save up for a e-force supercharger or other s/c set up.

You will learn alot more, alot faster by using google and just typing in 2005> mustang shift kit or equivalent.

You can buy a handheld tuner, DiabloSport Predator or SCT x3 and get a tune with firm shift, it's not like older automatics, the tune will improve the firmness of the shift but it won't make a real big difference on the actual performance, it will just "seem" like it. It will help slightly but it's not a genie in a bottle, or in this case, handheld.

It is better to remain silent and be thought of a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
