I dont mind the rain so much, but since i have three cars i like to keep the Muststang in the garage if the weathers bad cleaning three cars is a pain.by the way i am not a big fan of car bras but that one is really nice.looks good on your car.

I believe I ordered the 5 Series cup holder from him. He's a great guy and will answer your questions promptly:

Tell me about it! They gave me a small one for the back (looks like a normal US plate), but told me I have to use the long one on the font. Normal German plates are the long ones...

I'm glad I got a Craig's Bracket for the front. I didn't have to put any holes in the bumper. If you haven't seen the bracket check it out:

LOL. I still say it's Ford's fault. They should have told me there would be a possibility of RAIN in the future.

My thoughts exactly
Might as well go with a aftermarket paint job now

Awesome stuff, i always love seeing threads from you and your car. To the guy saying this thread is pointless... nobody is forcing you to read it. I love the look of those leather bras, especially on a silver car. Just be careful with it, one of my good friends has a '98 GT with a black leather bra, and has had it on there for about 5 or 6 years now. The paint underneath it has faded and the clear coat has begun to peel. So just a friendly heads up if you plan of keeping it on for years to come. But i'm sure you know what you're doing, and can do without my "tip"... the detailing job you previously did was flawless. Cheers

I waxed it repeatedly w/o effect. Used the detail spray also. It's pretty damn obvious. Stay away from the Turtle Ice clay bar!
FYI - A clay bar will not remove swirls, as it's primary purpose is removing contaminates stuck to/embedded in the paint. Likewise, wax will not remove swirls, though some waxes may "fill in" the swirls, making them less noticeable. The only way to remove swirls is by polishing. Many people don't understand exactly what is meant by polishing, though essentially it means using an abrasive compound to remove a very thin layer of clear coat around the swirl, making the surrounding clear coat flush with the deepest part of the scratch (which is what a swirl is). If you just have minor swirls, you can do it by hand with Meguiars Swirl-X, Scratch-X or any other polish meant to be applied by hand. Hope that helps.

To the OP, I picked my 5.0 up in the pouring rain and had a 40 mile drive home. I've put over 11K on it in ~5 months and it has seen plenty of rain. Thankfully, even with the mileage I have on it, I only have one rock chip so far and no dings or dents. I always try to park as far away from everyone else as I can. It's hard to take care of a black daily driver, but it's worth it to me. Can you tell me where you got that bra from? Not a big fan of bras, but think that one could grow on me. Car looks great, BTW! -Thomas

I read every post with the intention of learning something or helping someone. The OP seems cool enough and has a good sense of humor, but besides that, the original post was pointless (wow, my car was rained on). When I see such threads and fail to see the point, I comment on it, as that's the point of a forum. Please, do "correct" me if I'm wrong...

Sorry man, I got it from a guy who got stationed State Side and was leaving Germany. It was brand new in the package and came with the full bottom piece too--which I didn't install. He sold it to me for $20 so I couldn't turn it down.

The point of the thread was to throw a little humor into this place. Maybe that didn't come across very well in the OP. With the plethora of whining and crying on this forum--Ford sucks because they won't give me a free car stuff--I just wanted to show that not every Mustang being sold has a crappy transmission and or problem. That's not to say I won't have problems, but so far so good. I've probably got socks older than most of the people on this forum and I'm well aware of vehicle problems...it happens. I'm just opposed to crying about it in every thread. Bottom line: it was a joke! You know the deal.:smoke:

Ha...after that explanation, I definitely see where you were coming from - apologies for not picking up on that sooner, but I thought you were being (somewhat) serious. Cheers to you and your old socks . BTW, are you in Germany for work? Expected to come back to the states anytime soon?

Yes, I work for the US Army as a civilian. I spent 20+ years on active duty as a helicopter pilot and now work in government service. I am planning on working this for 5 years more and then move back to Arizona for good. If this Mustang is still driving like it is right now, she'll go back with me...:shiny:

Naturally, this is assuming our politicians don't crush the stock market with this latest fiasco...
