Crap Heated Seats

Just wondering if anyone would describe their heated seats as being pretty damn crappy.

I find that I start to feel a little warmth in the beginning but after like 10min I look down, the light is still on but I can't feel a thing. Do these heated seats have an auto shutoff feature even when the light stays on?

My folks have a ford fusion with a 2 level heated seat option and wow you can't leave those things on for very long at all or your butt will sweat.

opinions?

My Acura TSX did the same thing. I believe it's so the heat doesn't burn anything in the seat. If you keep driving, the heat will come back on after about 15 minutes.

The heated seats aren't meant to be heating pads, just a way you can keep from freezing your butt off when it's cold out.

I've got heated and cooled seats in my Expedition and they are the bomb. They will shut off in either mode after about 20 or 30 minutes and I guess that's so the mechanism doesn't overheat. I'm not sure if it is on a timer or a sensor but it sounds like yours isn't set right.

I've noticed mine shut off after about the same time you mentioned, but by that time I'm usually pretty toasty. If you want it to kick back on immediately just press the button twice (off, then on again).

Timed, for 2 reasons, 1 to prevent over heating the electricals, 2 the national health institute says that no more than 10 mins of heat at any given time to any area of the body, due to thinning of the blood, relaxing of the muscles "which driving, I would guess you could get to relaxed and could fall asleep?" and could result in injury from prolonged ex poser to a concentrated area.

Ex poser, or exposure? LOL!!! I don't need any posers in my concentrated areas, especially my ex. Do or do not. There is no try. No posing.

Mine get pretty hot fairly quickly, I have only had the occasion to use the heated seats a few times but I end up turning them off after a few minutes.

13 GT base, 3.55, Sterling Grey, MGW shifter, BMR LCA's, GT500 AB, silver RTR's, 275/40/19 Michelin pilot super sports, more stereo equipment than I will admit to, more parts to come.

Mine are slow to warm up as well maybe its just me. I wish Ford would of gave us the two step buttons like the GT500. I had a svt focus that burned my bottom they got so hot on this first setting.
