The GT and V6 weigh within 100 lbs or so of each other. I'm aware of the PP V6 equipment, thus it being my basis for a comparison against the GT. So again, $23k for a base PP V6 against a base GT, which usually go for about $26k. Can you make 100hp and 120 trq for less than the cost of just buying a GT in the first place?
I think the V6 is sweet. I own one. But I'm also realistic about it.
I like to look at the C&D Lightning Lap times for comparison. Certainly the GT does beat a v6PP around the track. However, the v6PP is faster around the track than the old (2006 and 2010 were both tested) GT. The thing to consider though is that the v6 had the 112mph governor on it. So what I've always contended has been if you removed the governor and put in some steeper gears, you might just close the gap on the GT or at least make it a driver's race. Brute HP isn't everything because the Boss LS beats all the Mustangs around the track including the GT500s.
