Notice how the FREEDOM loving Murricans don't comment on the socialist Brits and Germans having more FREEDOM to drive FASTER on the roads than us? Well, at least we got guns and beer, by God!

I'll take lower speed limits over crippling taxes and the failure of the euro.

Amen!

But, wait...German's have some really good beer. There's a brewery just down the road from me. They've been making beer since the early 1400's. I test it on a regular basis to make sure they've got it right. What I find funny is that a beer in Germany costs less than a coke. You can even get a beer at McDonald's...on tap.

The "failure of the euro," as you put it, has taken over ten years...oh, and it still isn't falling lower than the dollar. I've had to live with getting paid in dollars and buying in euros for many years and it hasn't failed yet. If the dollar will finally just go one-to-one with the euro I'd be very happy indeed.

The taxes are the real problem; 19% in Germany is insane (there would be riots in the streets back home). Thankfully, I don't have to pay German taxes on large purchases because I couldn't do it on my salary. I also don't have to pay German gas prices and that just eats at some of these pin-heads.

The beer in Germany has no equal. In Weisbaden, I'd go down to the shops area in downtown and get whatever local standup beer place had a heff. Deer god. I still remember it 10+ years later. Even up here in the Pacific Northwest, the beer mecca of the US, I still haven't found anything better. Close.

The euro is doing terrible. With Greece and Spain tanking, we're about to see some bad things go down.

Careful with the word "Progressive". That's a term that has been hijacked and politicized to mean "enlightened" by the political party that lives off its enslaved constituency. In that context, Texas is absolutely not progressive.

I hijack it back. There's nothing liberal about liberals; they're authoritarians and I refer to them as that. Orwellian doublespeak doesn't make it so. Progressives tout regressive ideas.....

It seems some states are slowly but surely pulling their heads out of their asses and realizing that speed limits need to go up! We have a bit on I-15 that is 80 now its pretty nice. But I would love it if it were higher. Lets be honest we know that it can work to have a limitless highway system just looking at the autobahn. We just need to educate our drivers better and it would be just fine. Hell if people would just stay right except to pass it would be just fine. In a lot of areas speed limits are just a cat and mouse game with the fuzz anyway. In Utah and Salt Lake County everyone drives 75-80 anyways and its "supposed" to be a 65 zone. The only time you get pulled over is if your driving by yourself with no other cars around.
Cars now have FAR surpassed the current speed limits as far as safety goes so why can't I drive 150mph+ on I-70, I-80 that pass literally nothing for hundreds of miles? And don't say MPG cause that is my business how I want to burn fuel that I bought.
BTW on a side note I got over 26MPG from here to San Diego going over 80 most of the way. Just sayin.....

lower speed limits = higher revenue

That's all. Public safety my @$$.

Notice that this is a road leading out of Austin. You can bet the only reason they're doing this is because a state senator has a cute little piece of tail at the end of that yellow brick road.

PS - I've driven this road many times and it is very much like the autobahn. There is a 200' strip of grass between the two sides of the highway.
