GT500 axle backs

Why do the 5.0 guys want these so bad? Most GT500 guys can't wait to get rid of them because they are so quiet.

I want them because they sound awesome. I think the car sounds great stock but the GT500s make a big difference. I've listened to some before and after clips on Youtube. Nice throaty low rumble. Sound way better than what my car came with. And the price? Can't beat it.

Because you expect a GT500 to be batshit loud. GTs are crazy quiet and these ABs hit the sweet balance between quiet when not and loud when yes and price and legal, etc etc.

I like them because they are quiet until you give it some revs.... I'm getting too old to be heard from around the block.

I agree with everyone, I just installed my set this afternoon and they sound amazing. Not too quiet but loud when you give it gas.

I had them and got rid of them also. Sounded great at first but just as the op stated wasnt enough to keep me happy. I ended up with the FRPP sports which are not cheap but I think they sound the best from any axelback ive heard. Borla made it and the S-types are similar. If your on a budget then the gt500 mufflers are an excellent choice , but if you want the best sound in my opinion and are not on a budget then i would get the sports. Oh and one other big turnoff for the gt500 is the tips are horrible they could have charged 30 bucks more and rolled them suckers

I run them with a 3" x-pipe, and 3"mid pipes with no resonators and they sound pretty good. Sounds like stock on the inside when cruising, and get very loud when you get on it. Also sound loud from the outside all the time, but not too loud. Here is a medium throttle roll on to about 3,500rpm

I've been in both and I think they sound much better on a GT than a GT500.

Some people don't like the rolled look. One of the reasons I got the GT500s

GT500 axlebacks have great sound with great "low frequency rumble," no raspy sound, quiet on cruise but great sound when you get on the "loud pedal" Absolutely no "drone." Outstanding "price/performance" because of high volume production. Solid quality construction. No problem with "water accumulation" like some BORLA and Roush axlebacks.

Because this 5.0 is the first one that you can't just put any mufflers on and it sound good. Unless you are willing to spend $600+ on mufflers that add no power, you have to go with GT500s. It's all up to personal taste but I bet most agree, there are not very many axlebacks that don't sound like crap on these cars.
