Help me decide what new mustang to get

Hey everybody I am new to the street car scene. I am looking to trade my current ride in for something new. I currently drive a 2010 crew cab cummins that has dynoed 707hp 1611 ftlbs of tq with the water/meth off. I enjoy going fast! And the new mustang body style has really caught my eye. I am wanting around a 650 hp daily driver. I love the 2013 Shelby GT500 but it is most likely out of my price range. Please help me determine if its a better idea to buy a new GT or new Boss 302 and mod to reach my HP goals? is the boss 302 actually worth the money or just buy a GT 5.0 and add mods? And which drivetrain will hold the power better auto or manual with upgraded clutch? Thanks for any input

I think the boss is a forged engine which would handle turbos better for more boost. But hell you can get a 5.0 slap a sc on it and be around 550 ish under low boost . I'm sure others will chime in. But there is a twin turbo 5.0 running 9.4 1/4 miles I think like 750hp

Look up hellion turbos the brand I'm most familiar with. And correct me if I'm wrong if someone jumps in . Alot of people run single turbo set ups with out a issue which makes them spoil faster then a twin go look at hellion to get ideas or in the search box on forums type turbo and see all the threads

How much HP can these engines hold before connecting rods and pistons are needed? the bottom end pretty stout? Are headstuds needed after installing a turbo?

The Boss has the forged internals and would be the choice I would make.

Oh ok thanks! yea I never keep any vehicle stock for to long and I def want to build it right the first time. I believe Forged will def be the best choice for me but $45,000 is kind of steep means I wont be able to starts mods for a while.

For 45k, you should buy a left over new gt500 2012.

You should be able to find a 302 boss 2011/12 for way less than 45K
But here is a STEAL! If I had the money, I'd buy and flip it in a heartbeat. This car is easily worth 60K

2011 Mustang GT Premium l Brembo Brake Package l Black Leather l Airaid CAI l Bama 91 octane tune l GT500 Axle Back l Resonator Delete l
1967 Convertible White Mustang l automatic l 351 Windsor l 550 RWHP +75 shot l

Man that gt 500 is sick but I would def have to sell my cummins first. Hopefully I can get out and go look at some mustang today's and test drive a few. Let me know if you know of any slightly used boss 302 mustangs for sale I really like the idea of having forged internals.
